Inspired by teachings of Western therapists and Eastern philosophy, my therapeutic approach is rooted in the belief that each individual has the innate capacity to recognize their truth and the ability to find the answers to their problems. Inherent in most human beings is the desire to feel connected, to live a life of harmony and with a sense of accomplishment. When we are confronted with challenging times, however, these goals may seem unattainable, resulting in feelings of unrest, uncertainty, and even desperation and symptoms of depression, anxiety and hopelessness pursue. Our childhood experiences and unresolved issues further shape how we may respond to these challenges and influence various sectors of our lives and relationships. My goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve the challenges you are experiencing.

My primary focus is working with marital conflict and issues of infidelity, divorce, parental discord, and domestic violence, as well as with individuals suffering from symptoms of depression and anxiety, and those who are looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging life situation. I am trained in Relational Life Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused CBT.

Professionally, I began with a focus on divorce and blended family issues. During the time of divorce, many individuals experience a great loss in their lives, which can lead to inner conflict and relationship challenges that extend beyond the couple, namely our children. I have extensive experience working with and mentoring divorcing families on co-parenting issues, child behavioral problems, and relationship difficulties.

Aside from the loss we experience from divorce, it can also be felt in other areas of our lives and takes on many forms: death, being or becoming disabled, a move or loss of job. Through a series of personal losses involving family and friends, I became aware of the great need for grief counselors. At that time, I broadened my education and training to include learning how to address the difficult issues of illness, death, and bereavement. As a Certified Grief Recovery ® Specialist, I consider it an honor to walk alongside and assist those who are on their own unique journey.

I am also trained in Sand Tray therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). While we can’t change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and work through these challenges in your life. If you are looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging time, or you’re just ready to move in a new direction in our life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.

I am a therapist working within the Family Counseling Group of the Farmington Valley. I graduated with my MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Saint Joseph. Prior to obtaining this degree I graduated with a Jurist Doctorate with a Health Law Certificate from Quinnipiac University. I provide therapy for children, adolescents and adults in both individual and family/couple counseling. With an emphasis on collaborative solution building I am able to provide my clients an open and warm atmosphere to rediscover their strengths towards achieving goals. Working within this collaborative approach I offer a wide range of therapeutic services that include working with adults and children experiencing divorce and co-parenting issues, grief, trauma, depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders and parenting problems. With plans to obtain mediation training I will soon combine divorce mediation services along with therapeutic services at Family Counseling Group of the Farmington Valley.
